Child of The Moon

Tsukiko Amano's Bio

Tsuki Amano is a Japanese singer, famous for singing "Chō", the ending song of Fatal Frame II. She also sang the theme song for Fatal Frame III, "Koe" (Voice), the theme song (and alternate ending song) of Fatal Frame IV, Zero no Chōritsu, and its ending song, "Noise". She released 23 singles and 11 albums.

Amano's love of music began at the age of five, when she started piano lessons. Not much is known about her personal life, but her early career included songwriting for theatre groups and a band with her friend and backing singer, Rie.

Her first single, Hakoniwa, was released on April 1st 2001 as a tie-in with theatre company PORT+PORTAL's play of the same name. It was also used as the ending theme for the TV Asahi drama "D's Garage". Her breakthrough single came in November of that year with Bodaiju reaching #66 on the Oricon chart. This song was the ending theme for another TV Asahi drama, "Midnight Mermaid."

She has contributed a total of four songs to the Fatal Frame series. The first was "Chou" for 2003's Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly. She was asked to return with another song for 2005's Fatal Frame III: The Tormented, and produced "Koe".

In 2008, Amano announced her decision to "retire" the name of Tsukiko Amano, and that along with her album ZERO, her image songs for Fatal Frame IV would be her last releases under that name. These two songs, "Zero no Chouritsu" and "NOISE" are both used as ending themes, "Zero no Chouritsu" used in the Hard Mode ending and "NOISE" for the rest.

The next year, she changed her artist name "TSUKIKO AMANO" to "TSUKI AMANO". This is to draw a clear line between what she had been and what she came to be after her quest for artistic freedom.
In 2010, as TSUKI AMANO, she came back to the music scene and released 2 songs with digital picture book CD-ROMs, a children's song album and an original mini album.
Marking her 10th anniversary in 2011, she hopes to extend her activities to any possible genres of art and music.

Tsukiko Amano is a solo alternative artist, but has been known to team up with other artists on the Otokora label. While she will be ending her solo career, she is still pursuing music and songwriting through other forms of expression. She is still part of the Otokura group: A Lunch.

Amano has been playing music ever since she was 5 when she started taking piano lessons. She was part of her junior high chorus club (as a soprano), and in high school she began to experiment with various musical instruments and joined the theater group. It was also in high school where she bought her very first guitar which is what she now primarily plays.

As Amano grew in her musical experience, she began to play in clubs, bars and on the street having gigs almost every day. She even joined a band for a little while, however this venture eventually failed, and the band broke up. Her major break came when she sent a demo tape to a close friend...who somehow managed to get the tape into the hands of one of Otokura Record's producers.

Although she is considered more of an underground artist when it comes to Japanese music, she has been slowly been finding herself in the spotlight, especially in 2001 with her smash hit 'Bodaiju'. Many of Amano's songs have also been used as theme songs for commercials, television shows, movies, and video games. Tsukiko Amano is primarily a solo alternative artist, but has been known to team up with other artists on the Otokora label.

Besides writing all of her own songs, Amano also designs and makes most of the unique costumes in her videos (and for her performances) herself. She also loves to draw and has a unique artistic style. Not only does she publish a comic on Otokura.com website, she's published a storybook she wrote while recording her Ningyou video. A variety of her artwork can also be seen on singles, albums, and posters promoting her stage performances.
